Privacy Notice
Effective Date: February 19, 2026
Last Updated: February 22, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Fensway ("Fensway," "we," "us," or "our"). Fensway is an AI-powered interior design application that allows users to upload room photos, submit design instructions, and receive AI-generated redesigns. The App may also provide product-search results and links to third-party merchants for furniture and decor items that may match generated designs.
This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Scope
This Privacy Notice applies to information processed by Fensway through the App.
It does not apply to third-party websites, marketplaces, or services you access through links in the App. Those third parties operate under their own privacy policies.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information from third parties.
3.1 Information You Provide
A. User Content
Room photos you upload (from camera or photo library)
Design prompts and instructions you type
Style selections and room metadata you provide (for example, room type, aesthetic, preferences, and constraints)
Saved design names, favorites, and similar organizational details
B. Support Communications
Messages you send to support and any attachments you provide
Technical metadata that may accompany support requests (for example, device type and app version)
3.2 Purchases and Subscription Information
If you purchase a subscription, your payment is processed by the Apple App Store. Fensway does not receive or store your payment-card details.
We may receive:
Subscription status (active or inactive)
Product type and entitlement status
Transaction and receipt metadata (identifiers, timestamps, and renewal state)
Limited purchase information needed for customer support and access control
We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription-analytics service, to monitor subscription metrics. RevenueCat does not process your payment; it receives subscription-status data from the App in observer mode.
3.3 Automatically Collected Information
A. Device and Technical Information
Device type, model, and operating-system version
App version and build number
IP address (used for security, fraud prevention, and network routing)
Language and region settings
Network information (for example, Wi-Fi versus cellular)
B. Usage Information
Feature usage (for example, which screens you visit and which actions you take)
Session duration and interaction patterns (for example, taps and navigation events)
Referral events within the App (for example, when you tap an outbound product link)
C. Analytics
The App uses the Firebase Analytics SDK to log usage and feature-interaction events (for example, screens viewed, features used, and subscription-related actions). These events help us understand how the App is used and improve its reliability. Analytics data is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
D. Diagnostics and Logs
Performance diagnostics
Security events (for example, suspicious access patterns)
E. Anonymous Account Identifier
When you first open the App, an anonymous account is created automatically through Firebase Authentication. This generates a unique identifier used to manage your usage limits and subscription status. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identity information through this process.
3.4 Information From Third Parties (Limited)
Search and Merchant Partners
If you tap a product listing or merchant link, the third-party site may collect information under its own policy. We may receive limited attribution information (for example, that a link was tapped).
4. How We Use Your Information
4.1 Provide and Operate the App
Create and manage your anonymous account
Authenticate sessions and maintain usage records
Process photos and prompts to generate requested redesign outputs
Store and display your designs and preferences
Provide product-search functionality and display results and links
Sync your saved designs across your devices via iCloud (when enabled)
Deliver push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging (if you grant permission)
4.2 Improve and Maintain the App
Debugging, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring
Understanding feature usage to improve usability and reliability
Testing and quality assurance
4.3 Communications
Respond to support requests and inquiries
Send service-related notices (for example, security alerts, feature changes, subscription-status updates, and policy updates)
4.4 Security and Fraud Prevention
Detect, prevent, and investigate misuse, fraud, or unauthorized access
Protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and Fensway
4.5 Legal Compliance
Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests
4.6 Aggregated and De-Identified Data
We may create aggregated or de-identified data for analytics and product improvement. Where data is de-identified, we do not attempt to re-identify it except as permitted by law.
5. AI Processing
5.1 How AI Processing Works
When you request a redesign, we transmit the necessary inputs to AI service providers to generate the output. Inputs may include:
Uploaded images
Prompt text and selected preferences
Technical metadata needed for processing (for example, image dimensions and format)
5.2 AI Training
Fensway does not use your photos or prompts to train its own AI models.
Third-party AI providers may process inputs under their own terms and policies. Their handling of data — including any retention or model-improvement practices — is governed by those third parties. You should review their policies.
5.3 Automated Processing
AI-generated outputs are produced through automated processing and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Product availability, pricing, and merchant details must be verified on the merchant's site.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below.
6.1 Service Providers
We use third-party service providers to operate and support the App. These providers process information on our behalf and are expected to protect it consistent with their contractual obligations.
Categories of service providers include:
Authentication and account services: Firebase Authentication (anonymous accounts)
Database and usage tracking: Firebase Firestore (usage quotas, generation records)
AI processing and image generation: Google Gemini (via Firebase AI), OpenRouter
Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging
Analytics: Firebase Analytics (usage and feature-interaction events)
Subscription analytics: RevenueCat (observer mode)
Product search (keyword-based): Serper API (Google Shopping search)
Product search (visual/image-based): SerpApi (Google Lens search)
Image hosting for visual search: imgbb
Important: imgbb image hosting for visual search
When you use the visual product-search feature ("Shop This Room"), the selected portion of your image is uploaded to imgbb, a third-party image-hosting service, and assigned a publicly accessible URL so that a visual-search query can be performed. Anyone who obtains this URL may be able to view the image. We do not delete images from imgbb after use, and we do not control how long imgbb retains uploaded images. Retention and deletion are governed by imgbb's own policies. Use visual search only with images you are comfortable having stored on a third-party server and potentially accessible via a public URL.
6.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests, including to:
Comply with legal obligations
Protect and defend our rights or property
Investigate potential wrongdoing related to the App
Protect the safety of users or the public
6.3 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice as required by law.
7. Product Links, Marketplaces, and Affiliate Disclosure
The App may display product results and links to third-party merchants or marketplaces. Purchases occur on those third-party sites and are governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
If the App uses affiliate links or referral programs, we may receive compensation when you tap certain links or make purchases through them. This does not change the price you pay unless stated otherwise.
8. Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Retention depends on the type of data, feature usage, and legal requirements.
8.1 Storage Locations
Depending on your usage, data may be stored:
On your device (local storage, Keychain, and UserDefaults)
In iCloud (design files and images, when iCloud sync is enabled)
In backend systems (Firebase Firestore for usage tracking and account management)
On third-party servers (AI providers during processing; imgbb for visual-search images)
8.2 Retention by Data Type
A. Anonymous Account Information
We retain your anonymous account identifier while your account is active. If you request account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes.
B. Uploaded Photos (Inputs)
Photos are stored on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled, in your iCloud container.
Photos are transmitted to AI providers for processing when you request a redesign.
C. AI Outputs (Generated Images)
Generated outputs are stored on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled, in your iCloud container.
They remain until you delete them within the App or delete your account.
D. Prompts, Preferences, and Saved Designs
Retained to provide features such as design history and personalization. Saved designs sync between your devices via iCloud when sync is enabled. You may delete saved designs within the App.
E. imgbb Image Hosting for Visual Search
If you use visual search, your image is uploaded to imgbb. Images uploaded to imgbb:
Are assigned a publicly accessible URL
May persist indefinitely
Are not deleted by Fensway after upload
Are retained according to imgbb's own policies
Deleting images within the App or deleting your account does not remove images hosted on imgbb.
F. Usage Records and Security Logs
We retain usage records (generation counts, timestamps) and security logs for a limited period as needed for reliability, billing reconciliation, and security (commonly 30 to 180 days), unless longer retention is required for legal compliance or investigations.
G. Subscription Records
We retain subscription and transaction metadata as needed for accounting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. This typically includes transaction identifiers and entitlement status, not payment-card details.
H. Free Credits Counter
New users receive a limited number of free design credits. Your remaining credit count is stored on your device in local storage (UserDefaults). This counter does not persist across app reinstalls.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including:
Encryption in transit (TLS)
Access controls and least-privilege permissions
Secure authentication workflows
Monitoring and logging for abuse detection
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information.
10.1 Access and Portability
You may request access to personal information we hold about you and request a copy in a portable format.
10.2 Correction
You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
10.3 Deletion
You may request deletion of personal information, subject to exceptions (for example, legal compliance, security, and fraud prevention).
10.4 iCloud Sync
You may disable iCloud sync at any time in the App's settings. When disabled, your designs are stored only on your device.
10.5 Push Notifications
You may disable push notifications at any time through your device's system settings.
10.6 Exercising Rights
To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@theboringdesignstudio.com. We will respond within applicable legal timelines (commonly 30 days).
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident and the CCPA or CPRA applies, you may have the following rights:
11.1 Right to Know
You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the sources of collection, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties to which information is disclosed.
11.2 Right to Delete
You may request deletion of personal information, subject to exceptions.
11.3 Right to Correct
You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
11.4 Right to Non-Discrimination
We do not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA or CPRA rights.
11.5 Sale and Sharing
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To submit a request, contact us at contact@theboringdesignstudio.com.
12. Tracking and Advertising
The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. As declared in our Apple privacy manifest, NSPrivacyTracking is set to false.
13. International Data Transfers
If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Data-protection laws in those jurisdictions may differ from those in your location.
14. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at contact@theboringdesignstudio.com and we will take appropriate steps.
15. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party sites, services, or merchant pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.
16. Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice (for example, through an in-app notice or other reasonable means).
Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means the updated Privacy Notice applies.
